Dr Scott Fanning
Launceston Gastroenterology is a Specialist medical practice founded by Dr Scott Fanning in 2012, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract.
We aim to provide exceptional care, compassion, and sensitivity in the diagnosis and management of disorders of the digestive tract. Our Consultant Gastroenterologists have particular expertise in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy.
Our Specialists are fully accredited in all diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). We are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and have been accredited by the Conjoint Committee For Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE).
Dr Fanning is actively involved in teaching Medical students and Gastroenterology Registars at Launceston General Hospital. He is the current Director of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Services at the LGH.

- Functional Gastrointestinal Diseases (IBS, Gastroparesis)
Open access endoscopy is available for appropriate patients. Please ask your Doctor if you are interested in this option.
We are available to care for privately-insured patients at St Vincent’s Hospital, and public patients at Launceston General Hospital.
Our practice is Healthlink enabled to facilitate paperless, secure and rapid communication to referring doctors.
PLEASE NOTE: We have relocated to 52 Elphin Road, Launceston. Entry is via a narrow laneway beside the building, with several off-street parking spots at the rear of the building. There is timed parking on the street in front of the building.
